My name is Felino Lanuevo, and I work for the outreach team at the United Nations University Institute of Sustainability and Peace (UNU-ISP) in Tokyo. I have sent this message to your Headmaster and thought I would sent this to you too. We would be very grateful if you would be willing to share our Fall 6 Week Postgraduate Intensive Courses (IC) and internships with your International School of Düsseldorf e.V. alumni/ae.
UNU-ISP seeks talented international candidates interested in solving global issues in a multicultural environment. The IC courses provide students with a solid grounding in the essential theories and multilateral approaches to issues of sustainability, development, and peace, while emphasizing interdisciplinary perspectives. The students also learn the institutional background and policy tasks of the UN system, and experience an analytical framework to study complex problems on the UN agenda. All courses are taught in a cooperative fashion by a team of international scholars and practitioners comprising both in-house and outside experts. One of the unique features of the IC is that many of the practitioners come from United Nations organizations. At the request of university students from around the world, we have extended the application deadline to Sunday, 24th June. More information can be obtained by visiting our website at http://isp.unu.edu/grad/credited/ic/index.html
The UNU also offers internships for versatile and enthusiastic recent high school graduates, undergraduates, and postgraduates that are interested in learning about UNU-ISP activities. Interns gain valuable logistical, organizational and research support experience. This programme offers a chance to contribute to the cutting edge research projects being undertaken at UNU-ISP. Our internship programme has a rolling application process as long as interns can commit to two months at the UNU-ISP. For more information on our internships, please visit http://isp.unu.edu/about/internships/index.html
Please do not hesitate to contact me at lanuevo@unu.edu should you require additional information.
Thank you.
Sincerely yours,
Felino Lanuevo
